WORKSHoPS/ClASSeS

AUTOMATIC
DRAWING. Friday, October 5. Don Copper will be leading participants in a
workshop exploring the automatic drawing process, which is (as stated
by the Surrealists)spontaneous, improvisational drawing without
objective goals or intent. By beginning with random gesture and drawing
only in spontaneous response to marks made on the paper, one can learn
to create from a more subconscious source. The process is intended to
free creative energy from the intellectual demands of accurate
reproduction and purely technical drafting skills, focusing rather on
imagination and visceral response to the unexpected. 10am – 3pm at the
Art Center at CCC in Astoria. FMI: contact Kristen Shauck , kshauck@clatsopcc.edu
