Animal Communication for Beginners. March 12. With Lisa Fraser. Learn the basics of beginning animal communication as we all have this ability. Students are asked to bring a photo of their living animal (or one they know well). Please make sure the photo has good visibility of the animal’s eyes. ACTING/SCENE STUDY CLASS. Sundays, starting March 4. With George Dzundza. Students must be at least 18 years of age due to the potential of adult subject matter. Students will be asked to perform prepared scenes in the class. They will be instructed on how to elevate their performances and acquire the tools of a basic acting technique. They will be able to use that technique in any future performances. Work on a variety of guided scenes and experiences will sharpen their acting skills. Everyone performs. Students will learn by doing, but they will also learn by watching how their fellow students grow and progress. The hope is to produce dedicated, independent and confident theater people. $5 per session, 2 – 5pm at the Barn Community Playhouse in Tillamook. 503-842-5566 to register.

THE REPURPOSE WORKSHOP. Tuesday, April 17. Join Christina Miller for a series of workshops designed to recycle your tired togs into new favorites. This week, “Tee Scarves.” Recycle all those T-shirts you don’t wear anymore to make a cute, comfy scarf. Bring a T-shirt you don’t wear anymore, but of a color you still love. No sewing. FREE COMPUTER CLASSES AT TILLAMOOK COUNTY LIBRARIES. Tillamook County Libraries will be offering free basic computer classes this fall. Sign up for a free one-on-one session where you can ask questions and learn at your own pace. Classes will be held on Saturdays at the Tillamook County Library September 11th, 18th and 25th and October 2nd and 9th. Additional sessions will be held at library branches in October and November. HIKE THE NORTH OREGON COAST WITH ANGORA HIKING CLUB. This year the Angora Hiking Club will be leading 8 hikes that will cover the 64.4 miles of the north portion of the Oregon Coast Trail. These hikes are open to the community, and we encourage you to join us for one or all of the walks. If you have questions about this program, contact Arline LaMear, 503-338-6883. Car shuttles will begin at the Basin St. parking lot across Basin St. from Astoria KFC. Walkers should gather there by 9 a.m. for the March, April, May and June hikes. The remaining hikes, July, August, September, and October will begin at 8 a.m. to allow extra time for the longer drives to the walk start points. A record book is available for $2 in which to record the eight legs of the North Oregon Coast Trail. Upon completion of all eight hikes, participants will receive a certificate. ENCORE Retirement Learning Community. Is an association of retirement-age people who share a love of learning. Established in 2001 by a Steering Committee of retired adults, ENCORE is sponsored by Clatsop Community College. We meet for lunch the first Tuesday of every month. We try to alternate between North and South County, so look for these Community Notes in your local Newspaper to see the place of choice. Our Lunch Bunch get-togethers are a wonderful venue for meeting classmates over lunch, as well as new friends.
